Just follow the instructions. Don't speak Mandarin Chinese? No problem. There's pictures. "You get in it an' I'll fly you around!" :p

How much do you trust your buddy with the control box?

That was awesome! I'd have to look up FARs to see how it's regulated. That would be so cool to commute in if I was still working.

    TEMU
    A flying device.

I'll take a hard pass - I didn't get this old by being stupid...

@W4XKE - thanks for taking the time to post.

My concern is those rotors. They look lethal.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Right after assembly, he plugged the battery in and all 4 rotors jerked (and fortunately they stopped) I thought, "Man, there's no way I'd be bent over there within the arc of those blades while I plugged the power in for the first time!"

If the default computer program wasn't set correctly, I could just see that switch close before the guy could get out of the way and he'd be 'sliced & diced' before he ever got a chance to fly in it. And that was just the first scary part!

I used to fly model airplanes and lemme' tell you, the blades on a little .049 Cox can dampen your day. I was tweaking the mixture control out at the flying field one day when the prop came off of the engine and hit my cheek bone just below my right eye and it really laid my face open.

They took me to he E.R. where I had to fill out some paperwork and a nurse asked me, "How'd this happen?"

"Well, the propeller came off my airplane and hit me here in the face."

There were about three people there who overheard and were totally shocked and looked in at me. ... "O.M.G. ... And you're STILL HERE!"

These are the early days of human-capable drones. There will be deaths, and mayhem, just like the early days of propeller planes. There are a few folks that will fly them anyway. This is what insurance companies are for, and funeral homes.

But it won't be long until that twenty-mile construction traffic backup will make many of us jealous when we watch the safer versions zooming overhead. Whee!

Sounds like a scene from the Jetsons!
