    Thanks for the tip -- I missed that when I skimmed through it.

    I'd have to be a member for almost 10,000 years to pay for that membership recruitment initiative. :eek:

    One is a licensed Amateur Radio operator who is the ARRL New England Division Director.
    The other is a licensed Amateur Radio operator who is an attorney, a former attorney for the FCC, an attorney specializing in communications law who practices in Washington DC, and is an avid contester.

    It is not at all unreasonable to presume that the two may have crossed paths in the past. (I've met both of them at a time or two at Hamvention, though not both at the same moment in time, and I'm certainly not the only one who has done so)

    So what?

    I still think that part of the retention problem is how members are viewed from the outside, and how they (existing members) treat new members of the League. I'm not sure how money is going to solve that issue.
