This is an interesting development which is a follow thru on the very suggestions I posed on QRZed several weeks back. I am sure others also want to take ownership of this great idea. Sure! Help yourself! The subsidy would likely be age (<18) and need based. Note this very different from what the ARRL asked for in the NPRM FCC response a few months back. The ARRL has admitted that they regularly read the various forums and has already acted on a few items.
This is fantastic news as it means they have enough money to also wave renewal fees for retired members or reduce membership fees across the board.
I respectively ask the ARRL Board to consider playing for any retired ham license fees Us old farts are being discriminated
