29000 area was clear of contest activity this past weekend. A bunch of people showed up and tried AM for the first time ever or in xxx years. Not wet noodle antenna guys either for the most part. Made for some fine conversation and swling. There were also a few new intruders without callsigns.
Yes drinking some swill while in QSO can lead to some fine conversations. Oh wait………….that’s not what you said. The intruders probably scrolled too far on their RCI2950’s.
You and your friends need to have patience and a big signal, and you’ll see that the contesters will eventually go uh-whay.
Well, heck...take your months of radio experience and tell all the regulatory bodies you disapprove! LOL
There is ample room for Everyone on a huge Band like 10m. To paraphrase a quote from the Movie 2010 the Year We Make Contact ( sort of a sequel to the Classic Movie 2001 a Space Odyssey ). '' All these Frequencies are Yours. Use them together and use them in Peace KH6/G3SEA
Yes, 35 years ago when I was a tech plus I used to communicate on 10 meters voice all of the time. I have a hearing problem, so I couldn't get up to 13 WPM Morse code for receive. I still had a lot of fun contacting stations around the world on ten meters.
This is 1st time as I tried to work on 10 meters band CONTEST ARRL. I work with my attic End Fed antenna and Yaesu FT-991A and had only 9 QSL. I did a log of data to my QRZ log. After that, I adapted adi file of my log to a cabrillo file and insert it to ARRL 10 meters Contest page. Unfortunately, I had error message from ARRL about this file. After that, I decided to mail my paper log forms to ARRL. So, I think there will be much easier if QRZ loger could be transferred automatically Log data to ARRL. What do you think about? Thanks for a response. KD9WIF, "73"
