KC9UDX will be 3 in two months.

29? You're not the first person to say that. I asked the last guy where he got that information and he said it was a web search, but wouldn't say where. I find it odd that a web server somewhere has that erroneous information, especially given how common my name isn't.

I am way too lazy for that. Many people say that anything under 30 is young for ham radio so I started with the highest number under 30.

I am 21, been young with the ham community, going into my 4th year in April.... Just wish I could teach my college many things about ham radio, and hopefully start a club on campus

I am a fifteen year old extra operator. I got my first (and only license) in early December of 2013. I am just loving the hobby! :D I have already got another friend that is going to test in april for his tech, and maybe some more young people that might be interested in getting into ham radio. ;) I hope to get lots more young people into it. I see that the best way to get more young people into it, is to have young people tell everybody they know about it.

You guys think a 'Young Ham' group would be handy on here?

Well statistically there are not all that many youth.
But there are a few that I hear on the repeaters or even on HF.

I think one of the reasons there is not that many on is paradoxical.

Many youth prefer talking to others around their own age so they don't get one much
and if they don't get on, there is few for others to talk to.

Its pretty difficult to explain clearly.

I am personally very happy to talk to operators that are much older than I am.

My 17-year-old grandson is taking his Technician exam next Saturday. I'm getting him a Yaesu FT-60R as a celebration present.
