Depends on your antenna and location. I have noticed 20 meter band has been good at dusk and even few hours after sunset.

guys with wire antennas or compromised antennas: we have to wait for the guys with beams to pick us up for any real DX :p

Reminds me a week ago around ten at night for some reason I was on 20m here on the West Coast and heard someone calling CQ...It ended up being a fellow recently home from missionary work living all of about 8 miles away. After a bit entered some true DX...another gent from 15 miles away... Ha!

Not antennas. I have a tri=bander beam. But 20M is still dead most of the time. I hear stations, but atmospheric noise is stronger..It's supposed to be getting better, but I can't tell any difference yet.

Working the Carribbean on 6m FT8 with a loop at 20 feet. So that is not dead!

There were a couple of solar storms that impacted Earth last week. That always disrupts radio propagation when the plasma hits the fan.:(

17m is open until late every night.

    I haven't checked the 18m band.
