The SARA board chose to suppress the April 1 newsletter and censor the April Fool's Day content. there used to be a bunch of stations through out the past years that would have the call signs, F0OLS, FO0L FO0LS, AP1IL, PR0ANK, F7AKE, C0ON. Head one guy sending on 10 meters one year signing F0OLS and had an address of a ham in a nearby town and he got dozens of qsl requests and had dozens of qsls and he had no idea what this was about. The fake station was using his qsl address as his manager. KB1MY.
Thanks for pointing that out! It stands to reason there would be a few! Did you check out the uncensored newsletter (above)?
our radio club had a " APRIL 1 DUMMY LOAD QSO PARTY " back in 1985. I was surprised, I worked 2 of our members and another one of our members worked 3 others and won.
Lonnie, You have really done a great job with the news letter, and quickly I might add. Layout is looking great, and the content is good. It was just a few short months ago when you were asking for suggestions and you have really come a long way in a relatively short time.. Nice Job Sir!
I haven't been an active radio club member in the last few years. Really don't have the time working and being a member of our local LIONS CLUB. Going to be the incoming president of the ORFORD LIONS CLUB in June. Most of the radio clubs I've belonged to, don't value my input, so I just stay away and pay my dues. I have enough to do with the LIONS CLUB. I'm asking, are there any other hams here that belong to the LIONS, MASONS, ELKS, MOOSE CLUBS?
