Hi guys, my name is Stephanie and I am in Civil Air Patrol (auxiliary of the Air Force). I was just wondering if anyone else was in CAP.
    Thanks!

    Nope

    I'm not.

I focus on ARES, SATERN, HEART, and CERT.

It sounds like a really interesting service though.

    Cap

I use to be in CAP when I was 15, then decided to be a cadet fire fighter when I turned 16 (last month).

I'm definitely in the wrong country for that. plus with my university courses I don't really have that much time for other stuff right now. sounds a bit like air cadets to me. I was never really interested in that sort of thing since it required too much marching and the like.
I might take some time to join CFARS(MARS) it seems like I might be able to have some fun there

Yeah, it is a great program and it is like air cadets. I guess you just have to be a person who has an interest in flying and military.

We just had a SAR drill here, ARES, SATERN, RACES, and CAP played.

I was VERY impressed by the CAP guys! They were all very respectful, took orders from the IC, and were very helpful and relatively skilled. They were a great asset for the search, very effective!

I was the Comms(communication) officer for the event (basically net control with a nice title), and some of the CAP guys were the radio officer for their team, very brief and were good at being patient, and giving exactly we need to know at the incident command center.

Plus, most of them have taken the basic ICS courses, so they knew exactly what was going on, and worked very effectively under the ICS structure.

Kudos to you for participating in CAP, and kudos to the CAP program!

    Sm Cap.

    Hello.

The CAP program is not just limited to the USA.
Just like the regular military, there are counterparts to the CAP.
148.xxx is not just a nationwide assignment, it is a NATO assignment.
The UK equal is the air cadets.

The Saudi Arabian equal is the junior air force.
Even the French have an equal!
I am a Senior Member (SM) of CAP, since the days of 19th Group, in San Antonio.
I started as a member of the LA squadron (CA), where I first learned to fly.
