Well, I'll be dragged. I never knew til now why Bill Halligan chose to call it the "TO". Thanks, Carmen.

If the rig Tony received in payment was a Cyclone, I think he was well-compensated. It represented about three weeks income for most people back then!

But if I remember what I have read about Hallicrafters correctly, the Cyclone didn't come out until the mid-sixties, while the TO keyer came out about 1960 (as did I).

Thanks for the reminder, Carmen. Knew it was expiring this year but didn't realize it was happening so soon. Renewed online.

    Good job Carmen!

About 5 years ago I found a brand new in original box, never plugged in, tags still on it, TO-Keyer and use it to this day. Could I have put it on eBay for $500? Probably - but the money would have been long-ago spent on "who knows what", the buyer would have put it in his museum with all his "unbuilt Heathkits", but instead I get to use it on the air any time I want!!! I did know that W9TO designed it but I've learned a lot about the "back story" here and the whole CFO story.

My W9TO Keyer is in regular use in my vintage shack positions - and I think it was a steal for $30 at an antique store :)
