I think the idea is that they could operate cw so fast because they smeared chicken fat on their sending devices.

You did. But in the same or lower word count as telling us where to find out the actual meaning, you could have just said that it's a CW club that promotes QRQ. I thought the reference to putting chicken fat on their keys was a joke. Well, it IS a joke. But an "in" joke.
