    Amazing story. Even if they accidentally focused in on a CB frequency. I can't believe this one hasn't gotten more traction. Ham really did seem to save these guys lives.

    A bit on the melodramatic side for the video but does repeatedly say "licensed ham radio operator" - so...OK.

    Good reporting.

    Two takeaways:

    1) On voice, it's MAYDAY; not "911", "S0S", or "Emergency." This is a perfect example of learning and adhering to established communications standards.

    2) With a vehicular pull line, make certain to utilize, or fashion together some sort of winch line dampener or weight bag.
