I will be starting Thanks a lot for hosting this. I want to ask how well did I do last time was I top 10?
I have a good tool for you: https://quillbot.com/ai-content-detector These days, millions are using ChatGPT and other AI engines to write school papers and articles. In fact, the practice is rampant and the trend is it will surely get worse. I would suggest you use the tool liked above and paste text you receive to have QuilBot analyze it. If it comes back with "100% AI written" you can absolutely be assured it's not authored by humans. I've found QuilBot a great way to spot AI-generated text for a publication I'm involved with as editor and I reject anything AI written. Just a suggestion... very cool event! Good luck. Dave W7UUU
I 'Might' Use A.I to touch up my essay But I certainly CAN NOT use it to cheat that's not how you win the 7300

The cutoff was only 15 days ago. Not everything is "instant gratification" - sometimes you have to just wait. Take the Salmon Run contest - happened in September but the results won't come out until probably March. And that's just a radio contest. Reading thousands of essays doesn't happen overnight. They'll get there I'm sure, and will announce it once all the entries have been read and judged. Patience is a virtue Dave W7UUU
I was just saying but yes. It's amazing how fast time flys by. They will announce the winners soon I bet, Last year they got only 30 essays so maybe 90 this year it's a lot of reading to do.
It is with great pleasure that we announce the winners of the Fifth Annual Youth “Dream Rig” Essay Contest. We received 34 essays from young amateurs from Canada and the USA. Each essay was unique in thought and very well written. Extra consideration was given for correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. The essays gave interesting perspectives on how to reach out and connect with the youth of today, and we will be sharing those ideas in subsequent postings. First Place winner, and recipient of the ICOM IC-7300, is Katie Campbell KE8LQR, Age 16. Second Place winner, and recipient of an ICOM ID52A dual band multi-function D-star radio, is Lila Shearer KK7RRV, Age 14. Third Place winner, and recipient of an ICOM T10 dual band handy talkie, is Michael Simon KK7KLG, Age 15. Having read your many essays, we can tell that our youth are full of great ideas, and are brimming with enthusiasm to keep our hobby alive well into the future. We received a number of outstanding essays, and we wish that we had more prizes for the deserving authors. In the coming weeks, we will be sharing the winning essays on our Facebook page. Thank you to all the youth participants for helping us make our fifth annual Youth Essay Contest a success. Best wishes & Happy Holidays! Paul S. Ewing N6PSE President, The Intrepid-DX Group
