Most amateurs don't realize it, but Senator Nelson did us a huge favor.

By the way, as of 8/2. ARPA was also stripped out of the Senate version of the Interior, Environment, Financial Services and General Government, Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Act, 2019, HR 6147

The power of 750K people is nothing compared to the dozen or so people from the real estate biz (umm doesn't the Executive still make money in that biz?) paying for political ads for certain politicians.

It would be interesting if those hams forced to live under those restrictions used stealth antennas and then ran 1.5 KW. What could the HOA do? They have no control over power limits and if the antenna is hidden they have no control over that. Perhaps fighting fire with fire might achieve something. If the neighbors get interference and your station is operating legally there would be nothing the anti antenna people could do about it. Unless of course the HOA's are under the impression that they're the FCC not the HOA.

Oh, well. Just part and parcel of the legislative process. Not a surprise for a tiny niche constituency.

I still think the best way to achieve the goal is to back it in under the PRB-1 principle. "If unlicensed private TV owners have the right to put up a TV antenna, then certainly FCC licensed amateurs have the right to install antennas too!".

All we need it an FCC statement of interpretation saying so!

As I tried to say in my post above - he's up for re-election this November, and his opponent is Rick Scott, who is a republican and has a real chance to beat him. If he gets beat, who will take over from him in his committee? That's who would block any future bills from leaving committee.

Forced? I'm unfamiliar with that law as well as which agency enforces it compelling people to live there. And we should demand ARRL lobby for legislation prohibiting the forcing of hams to live in specific neighborhoods. Thanks for informing everyone!

If you're a real ham operator you would never move to an HOA.You deserve what you get!
