It was so hard to find out about getting the most up to date information about amateur radio license plates that I made a page for it.

You can find out about whichever state you are in from this URL: https://www.wb4aej.com/plates .

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions you might have.

Post them here or use the 'contact' link that is on the page to reach me.

My registration was coming up in 3 months, so I just sent off for an amateur plate. When you go to the Louisiana link, click on Organization/Service and Amateur Radio Operator is at the top of the list. Thanks for the resource. I'm sure many will take advantage of it.

I had already notated that in the text above the table.
Unfortunately, the way Louisiana has it on their Web page makes it impossible to direct link to the amateur radio plate information. I did the best I could see how. Glad you were able to get your plate ordered.

After several theft attempts I got rid of my ham plates and that was ~ 20 years ago.

Nobody has attempted to mess with my car since I got amateur radio plates. Of course it could be all the junk radios in the car.

Not to be that one person but I'm afraid that's something I wouldn't do. That call being public record a good thief could see your plate, look it up, get an address on you and assume you have all kind of high dollar equipment in the house (or car). Unintended consequence?

Radio equipment used to be a high target item.
Since the CB craze ended, few are interested in getting radios any more.
Besides, an ARRL Insurance policy mitigates the risk. And in forty-five years of having amateur radio plates on my car, I have never had any radio equipment stolen.

Yeah but the craze for drug money is at an all time high (pun intended). 45 years ago I would have been proud...now I'm more cautious than proud. No need to advertise. And I sure as hell won't buy an insurance policy from the A Double R L, so my comment and opinion stands.
