    AM SPECIAL WEEKEND EVENT

    DATE: MAY 12 and 13

    WHERE: TEN METERS 29.0 – 29.2 MHz

    SATURDAY MORNING TO SUNDAY EVENING

Now is the time to dust off your old AM transmitter and bring it back to life! The growing popularity of restoring old vintage gear has many hams wondering where the older AM gear can be used. The frequencies for Vintage and “Home-brew” AM transmitters are identified by the band plan. The frequencies are: 3885 kHz, 7290 kHz, 14286 kHz and the 29.0-29.2 MHz portion of TEN meters.

TEN meters will be the frequency location for a “TEN METER AM EVENT” on May 12, and May 13. Hopefully propagation will permit new vintage radio enthusiasts to listen and communicate with other hams using their vintage radios and “home-brew_ Transmitters on AM. This “new” facet of amateur AM radio has become analogous to old car collecting and restoration. If you would like to learn more about Vintage AM transmitters and related items, listen to the various “AM WINDOWs” mentioned and especially, on Ten Meters from 29.0 to 29.2 MHz during this special event. Most of the operators will be happy to demonstrate their Vintage AM equipment and offer advice to anyone who contacts them on AM.

    See you on TEN AM!
