Hearing plenty of beacons now 13:50.

    KF4MS, K5TLL and N4HFA.

Some of the prediction sites based on completed QSOs will have you taking up shuffleboard instead of making contacts.

Called CQ on 29000 but nobody home yet.

Best way to make contact is check if 29000 is clear and if it is, call CQ.

Many people leave a receiver parked there.

When the band is open for days on end it starts to make more sense to call CQ somewhere higher. Right now you could go completely unnoticed anyplace but 29000.

If you aren't hearing any 10 meter beacons you will not be making any skywave contacts : (

KQ2H repeater on 29.6 is used worldwide as a beacon for AM and FM users.

The 40 and 80 have been poor here for the last three weeks. 40 is long so the usual utility is gone. 80 late afternoon absorption is high. Combine that with a neighborhood full of China gizmos and I can only hear QRO people until the sun gets low.

40 meter phone was excellent this afternoon. A nice QSO with W6FE, NI6Q and myself with loud signals running medium power.
I was running the Bauer on low power :D and it performed perfectly. It's nice to have a band cleanser.

Anyone make any aircheck recordings? Would enjoy hearing your voice and what the transmitter is sounding like. And, what set of audio gear have you lashed up to it so far? Results? Comparisons?

Anyone up for 15 meters at 21.420?

    Dubble Sideband w/carrier maybe?
