Healthy amount of 40 meter activity 9-10PM EDT Monday. 7290-93-95 (var) K0SF Steve on the Collins 20V3/SP400 N3TBW T368 NI6Q - did not hear me W8DOH Greg listening on a Fisher NuVistor R200B N8YHP David WB2RON Ron Flex1K and a few others but I had to go to bed
I think I have listened to them sometimes 3875 Pretty neat group. These guys know their stuff. I believe they use PWM
I heard a couple of ssb stations on 10m today. Nothing but tumbleweeds on 29.000. 3885 is a ghost town right now.
29.000 has been unoccupied for some time. I stay lower in the band when it's "working" as people actually hear me there. Current E skip is better than E skip when there are some sunspots according to K1KW and my receiver. As a comparison I was heard in Europe at a half dozen locations over the last couple days using FT8. No way could I do that on fone right now.
Nice activity today on 7.160(mostly TX & OK). Best "needle pinner" was Darrell,WA5VGO, on his KW-1. Several ops are planning to be back at 6:00PM CDT this eve. Be there or be square. Jon
Tuned up on 7160 a while ago and heard VGO and KD6OF and another K5 I think. Tried to break in a couple times but they weren't hearing me. I need a better antenna and more fire. I thought about firing up the plastic radio and leenyar but the leenyar throws off so much heat in summer. I gave up and called CQ on 7290, still no joy and when I came back to 7160 a slopbucket QSO was on 7159 and the group on 7160 was signing out. May be a See Dubya night.
I heard a large strong group on 7290 last night about 9:30, then something fired up on 7305 that was very wide.
