I can't say much about Alpha - no experience whatsoever.

But "A" is absolutely the case for Ten-Tec in my opinion. They had their day in the sun - just like Heathkit, Collins, Hallicrafters, Hammarlund, and all the rest.

    Nothing lasts forever.

Oh, and I'm a VERY happy owner of a Ten-Tec Omni-VI and Century 21.... wonderful rigs indeed - but definitely from the distant past

All we are is grains passing through the hourglass of time: nothing more, nothing less. Life is short.
Do what you can--while you can. Never look back!!!

    From Alpha RF Systems:

The Governors of TN, CO and OH have ordered the business closed due to COVID-19 Pandemic State of Emergency.

Effective 3/23/20 We are closed until further notice.

We will not be shipping product, doing repairs or selling parts and accessories during this time.

We may not answer emails or telephones during this time as everyone will be at home.

Don't know about Ten-Tec. Luckily, there are Alpha repair guys in business.

I noticed that too, at least they fixed the date. I thought it was a little odd to mention Tennessee in the notice, I was under the impression that Alpha was in Colorado. Anyway, I'm surprised they are still closed, I don't think it is a crowded facility so distancing should be pretty easy.

By the way, the Ten Tec notice still has 3/23/19 as the closure date. I though Ohio businesses were open but I guess Ten Tec have also decided to stay closed until things get safer.

They were good back in the 80s. Today, not so much.

The "we may not answer e-mails or telephones..." is kind of limpy.

Automatic call forwarding from one number to another takes 15 seconds to set up and doesn't cost anything. And anyone can check their e-mail from anywhere, that doesn't cost anything either.

    Unfortunately: Poor management.

I check and respond to my business e-mails if I'm in Tokyo or Manila, or really anywhere. Customers expect that.
