My email & age were always posted if you looked up my call sign. Now age is missing & I don't see it on others home page. I know this sounds trivial but sometimes I like to know if a stations is close to my age. This information is missing and other stations say look me up on QRZ & send me a email but it's not listed. Why is this happening? It's ham radio it's public information or is it ?
Not everyone wants to share their age (determined from the birth year in their callsign record details) or their email, and users of QRZ have always had the right to hide one or both without question. Not all amateur radio information is public information, especially in other countries. Also, your age/birth year is not showing on your page either. You have it turned off as do many many other uses. 73 de DW
Yes, O know it is missing but it was there before & I did not request it to be removed, just wondering if this is a new ploicy
You can turn it on by turning on the option to show your birth year. I don't believe that there has been any new policy changes related to this: it has been an option for at least the last 19 years or so that I've been a member. I just think that more people are wary about sharing information than they used to be.
