Wow. Amateur Electronic Supply (AES) has announced that it is ceasing operations as of the end of July, 2016. The Milwaukee-based retailer has four locations around the country, including Milwaukee; Cleveland (Wickliffe), Ohio; Las Vegas, Nevada and Orlando, Florida. It has long been the nation's second-largest ham radio dealer, after Ham Radio Outlet. No reason was given for the decision to close the business. http://cqnewsroom.blogspot.com/2016/07/amateur-electronic-supply-aes-going-out.html?spref=tw&m=1
DX Engineering climbs one rung up the ladder. I've purchased from AES in the past and even went to their Florida store. Oh Boy
Have most of them, going back many, many years. They're a great resource! Some became bathroom reading material... kinda an amateur radio "reader's digest."
I bought my first brand new HF radio from them, a Kenwood TS-440S a long time ago. I even remember my salesman was Phil, WD8AAN (no idea why I remembered that..)
