That beauty surely must take the prize for heaviest
1000 watt class transmitter. My BTA-250L weighs in at 1350 lbs for only 250 watts!

And overkill. The speech amp, using a pair of triode connected 6J7s class-A driving 6J5s class A, pulling a total of about 25 mA, is fed with a dedicated power supply rated at 200 mA, with a 5U4G rectifier and a pair of 200 ma filter chokes.

I transplanted the audio driver section from a RA-1000 into my Gates BC1-T to replace the flaky 807s (burning holes) on PC boards. Real transformer-coupled audio driver feeding 833As with a pair of 845s (eat your hearts out, audiophools).

Pretty good heavy iron. I left the cabinet in Iowa.

We had a fabulous time, mostly thanks to Phil AC0OB.

Don't forget the Benz did a spectacular job of hauling all that bounty. Ready for another road trip? Portland bound!
