band conditions 4/1/18 were so bad,all bands were down. one of the best april fool jokes ever. Anyone heard working the F0OL ? or the APIL? heard a station on 40 signing F0OLS.

 

Hi Everyone - Let me offer to clear the air here on a few things..first, many of us have years and in some cases decades of operating experience, Tabatha does not. Second, many observations have been made concerning "reverse" polarity sunspots- until they are reverse polarity AND high latitude, cycle 25 ( if it gets off the ground ) is not around the corner. Third and MOST importantly, the doldrums we are in and have been in will not be reversed until there is growth in sunspot magnetic size and complexity. Case in point, the Sunspot that recently rotated onto the sun is gone...spotless again. Many sunspots when they do appear, are not large or magetically strong enough to make a significant difference in the solar flux. Usually when we have a low cycle such as this one ( #24 ) it is followed by several other low cycles. We will be lucky if we do not drop into a Dalton or forbid, a Maunder Minimum. - Randy W7TJ

Maunder Minimum unlikely but Dalton minimum very possible. The deep solar minimum between solar cycle 24 and 25 may be longer than between cycle 23 and 24.

Solar cycle 25 may be weaker than the previous 3. But only time will tell.

Why in the world is a solar forecast for March 29 still on QRZ, What a waste.
