I haven't tried, but often thought about the 6KM6 ($10.00 tube) as a replacement for the 6JB6. It is a stronger tube with higher plate dissipation and higher transconductance. It has a little higher interelectrode capacitance but the neut. cap should have enough range to cover it.
Has anyone tried the 6KM6 in the TR-4??
