    830 kHz out of Tucson, from a wideband Nautel transmitter.

    Rock never sounded so good on a SP-100 with the IF wide open and an Altec A7.

    DX reports? (too bad they go 1kW/night).

    I bet they also have to have a DA at night to protect WCCO.

    Yep, 4 tower DA @ 1kW input night.

    First on the air in '83.

    That was a while ago. I've been told a Las Vegas station on 720 was the first one to break the clear channel barrier. I think the last holdout was 700 but eventually they got a primary. The protected contour has shrunk and we have critical hour auths now, but the band is slowly emptying. I hope we can get down to a thousand 5 KW and greater NDs.
