Looks like the Op (WL7PM) finally took the plunge after 5 months of posts to this forum topic, and bought the Acom 2100. IMO, good choice. I'm on my third Acom amp (1000, 1500, now a 1200S). Some issues with the 1000 and 1500 (in for repairs), but generally pleased with their quality and performance. 1200S excellent so far. Good luck, and enjoy it, OM!

I hate bumping old threads but since you did, I have both the Acom 1000 and 1010 and am very pleased....I have always wondered why the 1500 is still in production, it's the same as the 2100
but the 1500 has a smaller transformer.

I also wondered about having them both in their lineup. The difference in price is $360 for an extra 300W continuous carrier. Personally, based on the 4CX1000A data sheet, it seems that they're pushing the tube right at or past its ratings in the 2100. But I'm sure Acom knows what it's doing, and people like the amp.

Looks like it's gonna take a while to get an Acom amp. The only one in stock at DXE is the 700S, and all the others are *estimated* to be available 5/21/21 (pushed back from 4/23/21). HRO doesn't even list the 2100, 700S, or 1200S on their website, and are out of stock on all the others. I imagine COVID has caused huge backlogs of component production.
