4:1 Balun

I have two t200 2 powered iron toroid cores. Can I make a 4:1 current balun with them?
To be used on a OCF Dipole.

 

What's the frequency range of the OCF?

T200-2 is really only effective up to around 10 MHz.

 

Thanks for the info. I will be operating at 30 Mhz or more. Looks like I will order the
Ferrite cores before making the balun.

 

Must use ferrite. Powered iron has very little choking reactance.
Either use two each FT 240-43 cores or two each FT 240-31 cores.

Mouser is a good place to purchase ferrite or use this guy.

You can use a 4 x 4 x 2 nema enclosure to put the cores in. Home Depot or Lowe's carries them.
