Out of morbid curiousity, what polarisation should i use for 2m AM? I have half finished restoring an old hallicrafters 2m AM radio and I wouldn't mind putting it on the air for funsies, if only to have SDR equipped friends receive it.

(Well, SDR friends and TS-2000 owners...)

I have been told its horizontal, the FM guys are vertical.
A squarelow antenna seems to be popular.

ok. I'll feed it into the log periodic then for some happy fun times.

Thanks! Now to find some others in the bay area to do 2m AM retro times with...

I remember when my parents had a color TV antenna installed.

Way out of date. You have to use a "digital" TV antenna for outside reception. Get modern.
I just put up an "AM dipole," for example, because it's important.

It has nothing to do with the mode you are using per se. It's a question of determining what polarization most of the stations are using on 2 meter AM in your area. Depending on the distance they are likely to hear you regardless of polarization.

    True. Just Funning.

I like my digital headphones.

Gee, there might be a few people that have IC7k's around.
