Announcing the 2025 Chasing Cornwallis Challenge - Southern Campaign of the Revolutionary War
K4x Special Events​

In honor of the approaching America’s 250th Semiquincentennial Anniversary in 2026, we once again invite YOU to take part in a unique and exciting series of Southern Campaign Revolutionary War Special Event Stations.

These events celebrate the founding of America by lighting up the airwaves with a tribute to the brave men and women who forged the path to freedom.

What Are These Special Events?

This series of on-air events will commemorate key moments, battles, and figures of the Southern Campaign of America's War for Independence.

Each event will feature a K4x Special event station broadcasting from historic parks, Amateur Radio Clubs and personal ham shacks allowing operators worldwide to connect with the spirit of 1776 when pre-American Colonists opposed taxation imposed by Great Britain's Parliament and King George III.

Event Highlights
• Shown below are the 2025 K4x Schedule of Events representing deterministic Southern Campaign of the American Revolution Battles which preceded British surrender at The Battle of Yorktown.

• Historical Narratives: Each event’s QRZ page features key battle facts, along with context on the events leading up to and following the battle, designed to educate participants and inspire deeper exploration.

• Commemorative Certificates: Log any (5) five of the (6) six K4x Special Events to qualify for the Certificate shown at the top of this message.

No cost personalized Certificates of Achievement are emailed to each Awardee in both .pdf and pre-formatted .jpg for easy insertion into your QRZ Biography Page.

• Donations: In 2024, generous giving fully covered the costs of QSL Cards with enough funds remaining to provide 100% of Chasing Cornwallis Challenge Awardees with printed, framed, packed, and shipped Certificates of Achievement, all at no expense to the recipients - HUZZA!!!

How You Can Participate

1. Make Contacts: Tune in and contact at least (1) one of the SSB, Digital or CW stations operating during each K4x event.

2. Host a K4x Event Station: Volunteer your station, time and talents to serve as a K4x Net Control Station. Clubs are also encouraged to host!

3. Engage with Youth: Organize local club events or school demonstrations to connect younger generations with both American History and Amateur Radio by virtue of their K4x Check-in.

• Promote the Hobby: Invite friends, family, and newcomers to listen in or participate, showcasing the rich history and excitement of amateur radio as the stories of the Men and Women Who Won America are celebrated.

• Check the Event Calendar: Stay updated on upcoming dates by visiting each event's QRZ page.

• Spread the Word: Share this announcement with your local club or on-air nets.

(K4C activations begin Jan 16 at 7PM ET = Jan 17 0Z)​

Locating activations is easily done in real-time, simply visit each event's QRZ Page where activation number, frequency, mode, NCS name, state and/or country are presented.

Activations are also spotted on the DXSummit cluster.

On behalf of the 2025 Team K4x, we look forward to celebrating with you each of the Southern Campaign Battles that contributed to victory at Yorktown.

2025 K4A marks our second year celebrating America250 where we expand to a full week in July and again in 2026.

Our goal is to have a K4A Volunteer NCS's on-air at various times of the day, different bands and modes.

Please join us in honoring the brave Men and Women who forged the path to America, we are their witness now...without a witness, their stories disappear.

These QSL cards are some of the sharpest I have. Visitors (and grandchildren) like them, too. I love history, now that I can learn on my own. I wasn't a fan of "learn the dates, places and people, test on Friday" education I got. Looking forward to this year.

 

I first "met" Marc on the air, in October 2023, when I stumbled upon him talking about the Battle of Kings Mountain on 40m. I sat and listened to him for quite some time before and after our QSO, because he was so interesting to listen to. Marc is a true historian, and is such a delight to work on the air. Looking forward to this wonderful event again, and hoping to help out in some small way! Truly one of the most worthwhile special events on amateur radio! Keep up the great work Marc!

I received mine and it is indeed a Great Looking addition to my "Me Wall".
This was an Exiting hunting event and experience. Do you want to know how this Great Country was Forged and how we got here?
