Superstition ARC Proudly Presents its annual Superstition SuperFest, Saturday, December 7, 2013
Fun for the whole family, not just your oh-dark-thirty feeding frenzy!
Moved to Queen Creek, AZ at Schnepf Farms,
it runs from 7:30 AM till 4:00 PM, and features:
Swap meet in the morning, another one called "Scotsman's Row" opening in the early afternoon
    • We are on a well-drained, smooth, freshly mown grass farm field -- this venue hosts 10,000 people for concerts and other events.
VE Amateur Radio exams in the morning, another session in the afternoon
Fox Hunt (Hidden Transmitter hunt) one for adults, one for the kids -- Prizes in each category
    XYL table and activities
Free farm-style playgrounds and petting zoo for the wives and kids
Drawings for the Hamfest, Drawings for the XYL, Drawings for the Kids
Rest room with Running Water, no Portable Toilets here.
Farm-Fresh Food, no "Roach Coach" here.
On-Grounds Camping right across from the Hamfest -- you rent from Schnepf farms
Hay Ride transportation scheduled throughout the day

Directions to Schnepf Farms, 24810 E Rittenhouse Rd, Queen Creek, AZ

    • Ellsworth Rd becomes Ellsworth Loop to bypass downtown Queen Creek, and becomes Ellsworth Rd again south of town. We will call this "Ellsworth."
Take US 60 Freeway to Southbound Loop 202 Freeway approx 2 miles to Elliot Rd, east to Ellsworth Rd. Take Ellsworth south south to Cloud Rd. Take Cloud Rd east to its end at Rittenhouse, turn right.
Take Rittenhouse a short distance (before the rail crossing) and Schnepf Farms is on right.
    Follow the Hamfest signage.

    Note:

    • The use of Loop 202 and Elliot avoids some confusion with the Ellsworth exit at US 60, especially for eastbound US 60 traffic -- the Ellsworth exit is just 1/4 mile past 202, and can easily be missed.
    • Ellsworth is all very good four-lane highway, upgraded from the used-to-be-rough-beat-up condition Ellsworth was in for years.

    • One CAN take Rittenhouse southeast from Ellsworth on the north end of town and go to Schnepf Farms over a shorter distance, but there may be some confusion because Rittenhouse no longer just follows the RR tracks in Queen Creek.

We hope you find the new Hamfest experience worth your while.

Hamfest Map -- Once having driven down to Queen Creek along Ellsworth Rd, this map shows Ellsworth at the top, and following the red path by way of Cloud Rd and a blue path by way of Rittenhouse Rd.

Directions by way of Cloud Rd are easy to describe with less than 1000 words!

Saturday, December 7, 2013: Superstition SuperFest, Queen Creek, AZ -- One Correction
ONE CORRECTION: Only one Fox Hunt not two, as stated, "one for adults, one for kids."
I apologize for the error. Steve, N7CPU called this to my attention when I was writing
the same information on the club web site awhile back, and I spotted it in here as well.

Looking Forward to the experience! -- Larry, WB7C

Ok, really just a shameless bump up...
