Planning for the 2001 USA Amateur Radio Direction Finding (ARDF) Championships
is well underway! In fact, over 20 participants from around the United States
are participating along with 12 from China, five from Mongolia, six from the
Ukraine and two from Australia! Jim Haynie W5JBP, President of the ARRL, will
be present for the event as our special guest, too!

This leaves only seven (7) slots open, and any ARDF or T-Hunting enthusiast
- whether experienced or new to the world of transmitter hunting - is invited
to participate in the first-ever USA ARDF championship, which takes place in
Albuquerque, New Mexico from July 31 - August 4! Hurry, because registration
closes on July 1, regardless of whether those seven slots have been filled or
not.

If you are interested in registering for this memorable event, you must do
the following:

1. Email the 2001 USA ARDF Championships organizing committee at abqardf@yahoogroups.com
and let us know that you would like to register.
2. Wait for our reply, informing you that a slot is available for you or not.
DO NOT send any registration materials, money or make travel arrangements
until you have received an email reply from the organizing committee. This
is to make sure people don't make airline reservations and send money when
all of the slots have already been filled.
3. If we inform you that a slot is available for you, we will hold it temporarily
and give you the go-ahead to register. Remember, registration closes on July
1st! There will be no waiting lists.

The 2001 ARDF Championships is sponsored by the Albuquerque Amateur Radio Club.
This special international Amateur Radio event will involve an on-foot 2-meter
and 80-meter transmitter hunt using radio direction finding techniques, map
and compass skills and lots of enthusiasm! Participants in 5 different age categories
will compete against the clock, as well as each other in finding the transmitters
during the event. Training sessions, briefings, an awards ceremony and other
exciting activities will take place during the event as well!

If you would like more details about this event, news, articles and registration
information, please visit the 2001 USA ARDF Championships website at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/abqardf/files/web/index.html
today!

Spread the word to all of the T-Hunters you know, and see you in Albuquerque!
