The 2001 MS Pedal To The Point Bike Tour is coming up this August 18th and 19th. This event (starting in the Cleveland Ohio area) is a bike ride from Berea Ohio to Sandusky Ohio, where the world's largest amusement park resides. (Cedar Point)

The event is a fund raiser for the North East Ohio Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Almost 2000 bike riders of all ages will pedal 75 miles through back roads on day one with an optional 25 mile extension. Those who decide to stay over night will return on day two for another 75 mile ride.

Amateur Radio Volunteers working closely with a unique crew of medical volunteers have made this one of the safest bike rides in the country. In addition to running a very experienced net for emergency medical communications, we also utilize APRS tracking devices in every medical vehicle (8-11 EMT vehicles).

Thanks to this technology and an experienced crew of volunteers, first responders, and EMTs, we respond to most injuries along the route faster than any of the local "volunteer" fire/squad departments can. However, a significant amount of help is needed.

For more information or to volunteer please visit The Pedal To The Point Website or contact Jeff Garvas, N8YNR
