200 wat solid state 3-30 mhz 13.8v amplifiers

    Hi, i bought 2 of these before 10 meter ruling band 10m. Anyone know more about them? Guy on phone said 7 watts of drive for 200 watts out. Schematic would be helpful. Thanks n 73s dave

    These types of amps have been addressed here hundreds of times, they are generally unfiltered CB amps unsuitable for use on the ham bands without extensive modification. Documentation is usually non-existant. Sorry.

    Plus, they can be as linear as a donkey's back leg.

    I have a SLX250DX that was given to me... for hell of it I connected it to a dummy load and applied some RF, lo and behold it worked - that I couldn't believe!!!! The only fault I could find was the RF pre amp for the receive was duff - an easy fix.

    I keep threatening to rebuild it using the push pull pair..... the biasing is cheap and nasty using just a diode and resistor.... and no harmonic filters, I need not say a linear will amplify the harmonics as well!

    100W AM & 200W SSB from a pair of MRF454 - don't sound quite right to me.
