    Fred,

Many Thanks for all you've done in furthering this and the ham radio hobby.

15 years, huh?  And all this time without MICRO$TUFF [IMG] and the infamous BSOD,  [IMG]  Well?  Linux/Unix just rocks!

    Happy Thanksgiving, Fred, all!

    Respectfully submitted,
    73,

Congratulations OM! I enjoyed your story a lot.
The early days sure were exciting. I remember
installing Mosiac 1.0 on my Data General AViiON
UNIX workstation and thinking, this is *THE*
application of all apps to come! Thanks for QRZ.COM.

This week marks the 39th anniversary of the release of the Beatles White Album as well.

Thanks for all that you've done.

Congrats, Fred! I have quite a few disks, but I doubt I've got a first edition. But I will have a 30th edition! Keep up the great work. Best 73, Gerry

Coolness. [IMG] I guess that was just about the best way to distribute large data/software packages back then, before CDROM became cheap and ubiquitous? Back in 1992, I had just started up my own BBS, on my V20-based "luggable" XT clone with a 40-meg "card drive" [a hard drive integrated with a controller card to plug right into an ISA slot without using a drive bay]. The good old days...

I still have a QIC-80 tape drive in my tower. Oh, I have a CDRW drive too, of course, but the tape drive is still kind of a fun retro-toy. I actually use it for occasional backup duties, just for the heck of it.

Anyway, many kudos on a great site. [IMG] I may have been motivated to get my license even earlier if I had known about QRZ before 2005.

    WTF were you thinking?

"Hey.....check out this tape I got from the FCC........."

"That's nice Fred.  And from that you'll start up the international standard for amateur radio forums?"

    "Well, ya."

    "That's funny, Fred"
