One of the reasons for operating a radio out of band is transverters for 6 and 2 meters.

God forbid an Extra who knows how to modify a radio. You seems to have forgotten what radio is about.

Now, how about you quit being judgmental, malicious and accusatory.

For those of you wondering about transverters and what they can do.

Another Extra who knows how to modify a radio.. Oh dear me. :D

For what Transverters cost, what is the point? You'd save money buying an all mode, all band rig like the FT-857D, or purchasing stand alone all modes rigs.

$400 per band for Elecraft Transverters

Another pointless thread about CB radios, 10 meter export radios, and how much better we are than CBers.

I included a link to the page and I did not claim anyone's work.

Pictures of what I have built? How can I prove I built it?

It seems to me that opponents of 10 meter radios and radio modifications in general are starting to make personal accusations and attacks because they have lost the argument.

Another personal, malicious accusative post, I see. What's wrong with you people?

I am not anti-cb, nor am I anti CBer. I am Anti Illegal CBer. I do not get offended by the lingo, and recognize that most times you see it represented on a Ham site it is exaggerated.

Are Hams better then CBers? Yes! Not because we got a ticket but because we made an effort to learn more about our hobby.

Ask yourself, "Have I learned more in the short time I have been a Ham then I learned the whole time I was a CBer?".

Most CBers believe more power is better then less. As a Ham, you know that is not the case.

Most CBers don't know anything about antenna theory and believe everything that is written on the package. As a Ham you have learned enough theory to at least build you own antenna and know why it works so well.

Most CBers think we have special radios that talk worldwide when 10M is open. Asa Ham you know if conditions will support a 5W QSO to England on 10M then it will on 11M as well.

Just 3 examples of why you W9PSK are better then your average CBer.

Before I was a Ham I owned a CB Shop that was opened in my spare time and when I was unable to drive due to my heart condition. You can take my word for it that most CBers don't have a clue about RF yet, if you ask them, they are experts on the subject.

I used to take great joy in getting on the CB when trucking took me into an area with a CB Shop by helping them to expose themselves as the frauds they are. 9 out of 10 times one simple question would stop them all the time. That question was, "What is a Cathode". If they could answer that question, the coup de grace was, "What is Capacitive Skin Effect?".
