1/2 Wave dipoles on 630 meters do work!

    I wonder what the losses in those big variometers used by many hams on 630 amount to. With coils inches apart, there must be some considerable difference between power from the transmitter actually fed to the antenna.

    Since my antenna wires hang over many tree branches in the run thru my woods, I have to use insulated wire. Maybe I should start shopping for a bargain in 1000 ft spools for my VLF dipole.

    I can hear a lot (150+) of airport beacons with a 160M dipole, but hearing Hams on 630M is a bit more of a challenge !

    When I trimmed my 160M elevated radials at 15' I had to remove 9' from each side.
