    We all know what this means. Why hide it? It’s on EBay all the time. MARS modification means 27 MHZ.

    This Mars guy seems pretty well known.
    Everybody seems to keep talking about his work.
    Must be that tech in the van at the truck stop..

    I did it to my Icom ic-735 for 60 meters. Legitimate in that respect I guess.

    There are many reasons besides illegal CB use to open up the transmit abilities. Some of them are illegal just as CB use is, some are not. So no, that is NOT what it means, or at least not ALL that it means.

    Same here for my FT-1000d. And I don't care if it's "legitimate" or not. Much ado about nothing.
