That is quite a tragedy, it was at a nice location in the Inland part of the country of Belize, and they were bringing quite a few hams into Belize, for ham vacations and contest. When Belize first become a new country in 1981, the Kansas City DX Club came down and won several International contest from Belize, putting it on the map literally. They were operating from one of the areas along the coast under pretty primitive conditions back in those days. V31KW/K0UO K0UO Rhombic Antenna Farm is located at the Kansas QTH with over Two miles of Wire in the Air & On the Air, “The RF Gotta-Go-Somewhere"! The big tower in the photo has been replaced with wire!
