About this service
These amateur radio license updates and renewals are provided by the W5YI-VEC organization. W5YI-VEC is a recognized member of the National Conference of Volunteer Examiner Coordinators. Here are some quick facts about renewing or updating your license:
According to FCC rules, you may renew your license when it is within 90 days of expiring, but not before. Don't worry, we'll tell you how many days are remaining on your current license.
Updates such as address changes and corrections may be processed at any time. Please note than an update doe not extend or change your license expiration date.
If Your License Has Expired...
If your license expires, you must stop transmitting immediately. There is a two year grace period in which you may renew your license and keep your call sign. After two years, your expired call sign is released to the pool and your lose your renewal eligibility.
No FCC Certificates Are Sent
The FCC no longer prints or sends license certificates to amateur radio operators. You may download and print a copy of your license from the FCC website.
The W5YI-VEC operates and observes normal business hours, Monday thru Friday, in the Central time zone. Applications are processed each working day and are immediately posted to the FCC database. QRZ's database will be updated a day or two later after the FCC's updated download becomes available.
If you have any questions about your pending application, please call the W5YI-VEC offices toll free at 1-800-669-9594 or send e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
