I became aware of his achievements and his history after looking up his call sign on QRZ..... I said meeting him was like meeting Marconi himself. Al was a real live hero, there are so few anymore... Through our chats and e-mail, Al ( at my request) sent me an autographed photo of himself. It hangs over my ham station still today, and always will...
