    WIA Election Special

This is a special broadcast for the VK Amateur Radio Community about the Wireless Institute of Australia Board Election which is currently under way. You should have received your voting pack by now, if not, contact the WIA office urgently on weekdays between 6am until noon WST to ensure your vote counts.

We'll be sharing contributions from the candidates, explaining how the proxy voting system works and how you can make your voice count.

This special broadcast also means that our normal programming has been suspended. Roy's Helpline will return next week, as will Foundations of Amateur Radio, though if you need your fix, you can listen to the podcast edition this week. The RAOTC broadcast reminder is online at vk6.net where you'll also find calendars and net information as well as the download link for this episode of the news.

On behalf of WA Amateur Radio News, producers of NewsWest, Amateur Radio News in Western Australia since 1931, thank you for joining us.

You can listen to this edition on-air, on-line or on-demand and is available for download every week from the http://vk6.net/news/ website where you'll find broadcast schedules for many repeaters across the country in VK2, VK3, VK4, VK6, VK7 and VK8. You can also subscribe to the podcast which you'll find on iTunes if you search for our callsign, VK6WIA.

Why should this be just limited to members since what ever these clowns decide affects all of the ham fraternity in Australia .
The WIA has sold this hobby of ours down the drain in more ways than i can think devalued it forever, this organization needs a complete rethink and eliminate politics from within once and for all then i may rejoin left this lot some 40 years ago but that is another story.
