    Hi Folks,
the lockdown is coming to an end now, so it's time to go through the hiking gear and decide what were going to use this summer whilst out trekking for SOTA. When carrying radio gear in your rucksack for a whole week, the rest of your gear needs to be as lightweight as humanly possible. If you need to save more weight, perhaps this video is for you. In it, I talk about the new titanium windscreen I made to complement the titanium pot I will be using this summer. Working with grade 2 titanium can be tricky, here I go through a few of the more common tips and tricks for building a professional looking windscreen.

thanks for sharing. pretty cool gear. I'm used to ruck 50 pounders for miles so I am not yet in the market for titanium pots although I've expended more on radios lately!. stay safe out there.

You're very lucky living in the Americas, as you can use Amerimax aluminium flashing instead of titanium:

    https://www.amazon.com/AMERIMAX-PRODUCTS-66324-Aluminum-Flashing/dp/B000H5OC7U

It's much cheaper than Ti and does the job fine. We don't have anything like that in the EU. Alternatively, if you want something ready made then check out Trailsdesigns:

They do some great gear that is very reasonably priced. Remember, it's never to late to start saving weight.
