Aren't they required to publish their accounts? The RSGB is a registered public company and their accounts filings are available for download from the UK government revenue web site - that is how I can tell you how many employees they have and how many volunteers...

    They are.

I was asking N8ZI to prove a suspect claim.

    Exactly !
A swamp rat was recently appointed to run the FCC, so what else can we expect?

Don’t take the bait! Troll alert! Another attempt to sneak some toxic political vitriol into every corner of their miserable existences.

Hiram Percy Maxim did not leave some long-term legacy to the ARRL and the ARRL is not funded by that alleged legacy.

The only recent legacy from HPM at the ARRL is Maxim's desk--which was donated by his relatives a few years back so it didn't go to Goodwill or end up as a 900 pound elephant on Craigslist..

The ARRL is located on a modest campus surrounded by high density housing in a lower middle class suburb of Hartford. The people at the ARRL are great. You should visit after the COVID pandemic.

Lunch options are limited. But there is a Hooters in or near town...or was.

Maxim was a capitalist inventor who made money predominantly off his muffler patent(s). I see no evidence that we would describe him, today, as 'progressive'.

Little advancement justifies the moniker--good or bad-- as 'progressive'. That is why the title of the thread is disputed. IMO, the censuring is not appropriate. Just change the thread title.

I don't think the podcast title/thread title was intended to be "political" or such a lightning rod.

How else can one interpret it?

It doesn't say: 'Progress at the ARRL'. And KB6NU is certainly not British, and can claim editing ability with his writings.

Clearly this is a political title.

The word progressive is in the "amateur code", I don't think that is being used in a political manner. http://www.arrl.org/amateur-code

    I wear progressive bifocal eyeglasses.

That does not mean that I am a socialist! Or that the glasses were made by socialists!

Well, OK, in this case they were, I guess, made by socliasts, because the manufacturer is in China.

But the point was that "progressive" is used as an adjective, to modify "bifocal eyeglasses".

But clearly many, many others do. They are not wrong.

OK, let's look at the use in the radio amateur's code...and your alleged definition of 'progressive' in a ham context....

PROGRESSIVE...He/[She] keeps his/[her] station up to date. It is well-built and efficient. His/[Her] operating practice is above reproach.

What is it exactly in this news item that is relating to up to date stations and unreproachful operating practices? Lacking evidence of same, that 'interpretation' of 'progressive' does not apply.

It is a reporter's responsibility to make sure that the intended meaning is conveyed without ambiguity or misinterpretation.

But--let's entertain your alternative meaning (whatever that is...). How is this listed news a 'progressive' adjectival narrative?

    What makes it 'progressive'?
