I wanted to activate East Brothers Lightstation US0152 today but we had 30 knots gusting much higher on the Bay. It was like a washing machine around the island. The stationkeepers refused to take anyone out there, I would have gotten soaked, and would still be on the rock!

Hope all the others did bette today. Tomorrow we'll try calling from aboard the Red Oak Victory ship in Richmond CA. Not expecting much, 0 SN !?!!!?

We had 2 local Clubs (LeFrog and Ozaukee Radio Club) set up at the Port Washington, Wisconsin lighthouse # US0114, on the western shore of Lake Michigan, about 25 miles north of Milwaukee. A beautiful restored facility that is now a museum, complete with operating lens and many artifacts - run by the local city historical society.

We ran limited hours (daylight only) on 20 meters with a Tri-Band beam on a 30 foot tower, and 40 meter dipole, also at 30 feet, using club call W9CQO. Overall conditions were just "fair", busy at times, then completely dying. We logged about a dozen other lighthouses / ships and well over 300 contacts. But almost no DX. Not sure if anyone in our group worked Cuba, just know that I didn't. Maybe next year!!
