Looks to me he was just pointing out that even after several years of "no code" licensing, CW is alive and well.

    Long live CW!! :D

i was and still am for morse code testing as part of the amateur radio licencing process.

i found the people that made up various excuses as to why they "couldn't" learn morse code just would not admit that they were just too lazy to learn it.

anyway, the deed is done and we all have to live with it.

    cw forever!

    Morse Code is Necessary

Without knowing Morse Code, a ham operator surely feels empty since it is the backbone of all communications. People in their Medicare years such as I need the stimuli of code since anyone can speak into a microphone. Just by working stations during DX contests (not necessarily sending in a log) can easily get your speed up to 40 WPM in no time. It is a thrill to use an Italian Begali key and have a QSO with another station without having to write anything down. See you perhaps on 14.02000 MHz.

Wow, what a hot bed. It's been 5 years. Time to let it go I would say. What does the CW guys think about digital and the other modes? Are the verboten also???

There's only one way to end this thread...

    Somebody's got to do it...

    Here it goes....

Does K1MAN have a good fist?

If somebody started using CW on 14.275, would VE7KFM object?

Can we clean up Citizens Band by reimposing the code requirement there?

Does prolonged exposure to CW lead to incontinence?

Does lack of exposure to CW lead to puerile tantrums?

MODS, HELP ME OUT HERE, FIVE YEARS AND IT'S STILL NOT DEAD!

    :)

Aaaaahhhhhh! How could I have forgotten WINLINK ?!

Perhaps we should set aside the WARC bands for Winlink contests?
Using CB rigs that have been modded according to instructions posted on...

If we change PACTOR to use A1A modulation instead of FSK, will it still be evil?

If we use CW to transmit email messages, can we call it Winlink-Slow?

Are keyers for sissies? And is it a real key if you didn't make it yourself?

IF THIS DOESN'T DO THE TRICK, I DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL.

BFTL (begging for the lock).... :):):)
