Just finished listening to this episode. It was a good one, as usual. Thanks for your work in producing these Eric!
It's also been fun reading the posts this episode has brought up.

Can't forget ADAK. Were any systems not operated by the USN?

How about the 7th Radio Research Field Station, 7th Rockn' Roll Freak Show, outside of Udorn Thani Thailand?
I recall the night of 21 or 22 March 1976 when we shut down operation and started packing every thing up so we could return back to the" World "(back to the USA).

Spent some of my Uncle Sam's Canoe club time on the NAVCAMS, and experienced the Elephant Cage on Guam. What blew my mind were the Radio Barragada antennas.
Yagi's that covered immense areas. Different use to be sure. Impressive.
    Enjoyed the interview!

In the early 70's I was stationed in Coronado, California. I was a Navy Radioman 2nd class. Friend of mine worked in the Wullen Webber in Imperial Beach. On weekends we would tune in the Ham bands for a listen. They sure did the job. Love to have one now but the HOA would never approve it!

I was on Guam a bit before the "elephant cage" arrived. I happened upon a photo of Fingayen and all the barracks etc were gone along with those beautiful rosettes of rhombics. When I got to Guam in 1953 we were living in Qunset huts and the operations building was also a large Quonset hut. I still have a KG6AAY card form the old hamshack down at the old base. Don't know if it ever got moved to the new digs at Fingayen.
