Oregon SOTA Campout Success!

The (first annual???) Oregon Summits on the Air Campout took play over the weekend of July 8th, 2022. 23 Operators activated 30 summits for a total of 1385 QSOs with 651 summit to summit contacts! It was a blast to meet everyone and put faces to people I knew only by the sound of their voice or the cadence of their cw.

I worked a guy one morning on 2m simplex (146.520), never did log the QSO !!
He was on top of Mauna Kea as i recall, we use 2m simplex here for sharing HF DX contacts and i was scanning simplex frequencies when i heard him calling CQ ! Don't remember his call... fun contact though, SOTA probably...
