The TEN-TEC Legacy Nets are pleased to return for our third year serving as an Official 2022 World Amateur Radio Day Special Event Station using Callsign W1W.

On-Air Schedule will be posted on W1W prior to the event.

Each SSB Net will operate in hourly segments on either 80m, 40m or 20m, frequency TBD

Due to recent solar shenanigans affecting HF Propagation, each NCS will make a "game-time," hour-by-hour decision regarding Band selection.

The goal is to operate on all three bands, 80m/40m/ 20m, for the FULL 24 HOURS providing Participants an opportunity to earn a Clean Sweep Certificate Endorsement.

So, how do you find an active Net? Easy!

To communicate band/frequency information AND eliminate unnecessary pile-ups, Net Control Stations (NCS) will use Netlogger software as the primary Check-in method.

Intermittent CQ Calls will be made for Mobile Stations.

CQ calls will be made once all queued Netlogger stations are logged.

Netlogger is a free download - requires Linux, Mac, or PC https://netlogger.org/

Netscraper provides read-only access to any Netlogger session - supports any device with browser and internet connection https://www.k3clr.com/

Once logged into Netlogger, verify the Net Frequency displayed at the top of the Main Window along with the NCS and Logger Volunteer.

Open the AIM Window to Chat with Net Control or fellow Participants.

Participants are encouraged to remain logged in and on frequency to assist with Relays.

Please follow "Directed Net" protocol routing all contact through Net Control.

After Checking-in, please "spot" our Event here:

    Looking forward to hearing YOU....

Thanks for the question and interest in Checking-in.

Per the original message, "CQ calls will be made once all queued Netlogger stations are logged."

Each Net will start with a CQ call for Mobile stations only, then we will "work" the queued stations on Netlogger, once completed in the time remaining, general CQ calls will be offered.

The goal behind this is to avoid massive pile-ups that often include QRO stations overpowering barefoot and especially QRP/POTA/SOTA et al stations.

Considerable Net time can be wasted sorting through the overlapping Check-ins sidelining lower power Participants.

The only negative to this approach are fixed stations who do not have a computer and/or internet connection where, again, we hope there will be sufficient time during the Net to accommodate everyone on Netlogger and Over-the-Air Check-ins like yourself.

    Thanks,
    Marc - W4OVT

    04/16/22 06Z UPDATE - Band Plan
Due to solar storm impacts, Band Selection will be a "Net Time" decision.
Locating a Net is easy, simply reference the displayed frequency in Netlogger.

Event starts Monday 04/18 - 0Z/8PM ET continuing until Midnight ET.
On Tuesday, 04/19 event restarts at 9Z/5AM ET continuing until 0Z/8PM ET.
THANKS to all Volunteers and Participants!

Please post comments or questions within this thread or email direct to my QRZ listed address.

    Happy Easter & 73!

    Greetings:
There have been questions about the start/end times for the event, understandably so.

Every year, World Amateur Radio Day is celebrated on April 18th beginning at 0Z which this year translates to 8PM ET on Sunday April 17th.

There are some DX WARD events therefore already underway e.g. HZ1WARD in Saudi Arabia and VE5RAC as I type this message.

Given our Volunteer schedules related to Easter Sunday we elected to start our event on 0Z 04/19 or 8PM ET and continue for 24 hours.

In years past, the IARU has extended flexibility for such schedule deviations as was done for our Group in 2022.

Having written that, we will make an adjustment to eliminate early AM hours on the 19th and instead start on either 40m or 20m at 9AM ET. We will still operate during the day ET on the 19th as previously scheduled....just trading some early hours on the 19th for daytime hours starting at 9AM ET on the 18th.

Monitor the "spotting" networks for our activation and join the Event by logging into Netlogger with the Net Name: 2022 World Amateur Radio Day.

Looking forward to hearing your Check-in!

    73,
    Marc - W4OVT
