How many of you hear the term "resident frequency" on the bands?

I would say they have a drinking problem.

Never, 52 years on air, never but I have heard "Diapole".

I've heard you need a balum with those diapoles.

Is your diapole antenna on the flat side or droppy draws?

I have heard on the air the terms SRW's, South Carolina Window Antenna, 73's, "Spent fifty bucks on the good RV5 antenna for my FT-5000", needing coax with ends, and I'm sure there are a few more I just can't remember off the top of my head. Ham Radio, what a great hobby for the past 55 years.

I'd like to get one of those analyzers. Hard to justify, once I get suitable working antenna(s), then I probably wouldn't use it very often after that. I am in an HOA, once I got something working, not sure that I would go try to reinvent the wheel, but then again I may move the heck out of here, LOL
I got the SAA-2N VNA, but there are differences between what that reads and what the 7300 reads. Trying to figure out why that is. The 3 point calibration is very straightforward, there are no deviations that I can see, but without testing a known value, it is hard to rate the quality of the results. I got the unit from HRO, so I am assuming this thing is the real McCoy.

Have you considered the 7300 and all its additional ground points and cables could produce a slightly different dynamic in comparison to the reading provided by the VNA? I assume your comparison is specific to SWR.

Got to be honest i didn't watch the video (dollartube & ham-radio isn't my thing  ) but i did click on the post because i thought the OP was holding what i thought was a Meade LX200 hand-controller...in my defence i didn't have my glasses on at the time

I understand what you are saying Jim, I think?. So to match the lowest SWR with Zero resistance, or should I say the point of reactants and resentence nulls, and I would assume that should be 50 Ohm's. I would need to do that by changing the length of my coax, is that one way to do it?

I have adjusted an antenna to a pacific frequency I am looking for, for example the lowest SWR is at 7.055 but my resistance or Ohm's is setting at 65 Ohm's, which means my resonant frequency is really something else, so one way to change this is to adjust my coax length which will bring the resistance down. Am I getting what you are saying?
I need to study the book some more, to many years have gotten to my memory.
    TU Jim
