We hiked up South Sister Volcano W7O/CM-001 for some sunrise SOTA action. It was extremely windy on top and I did not want to try to deploy my HF antenna. VHF only activation, but got the job done. Thanks Chasers! 73 de Tim N7KOM
Nice. That last stretch up the cinder slope from the west edge of the Lewis glacier is a bear! The plethora of volcanic buttes ESE of town make for a lot of potential 4's that can be hit in the course of one day. 73 from Bend.
Yeah, nice to get in "high point country". Well at least compared to Portland. I had done a 3-summit activation day of Pine Mtn, Pine Benchmark, and Horse Ridge the weekend before for a total of 16 points.
Stunning Video, thank you. I am beginning to get on my own nerves with this, but “What a truly beautiful country” just fantastic.
Awesome hike! Thanks for sharing. It might be helpful if you posted distances to the stations you worked. Just a suggestion for post-editing. 73 de Arnie W8DU
