Quin (K8QS) and Tom (WA9TDD) look at some of the best amateur cartoons of all time, focusing in Part One on cartoons dealing with antennas, sex/gender, technology, and dreams. From HAM RADIO PERSPECTIVES on YouTube.
I always loved that beer/ham radio advertisement where the wife brings hubby a beer (IIRC, it was a Schlitz) while he's at his ham station. I figure he's on 75 meter phone. I know it's not a ham radio cartoon, but it's close.
I've never once had my wife bring me a beer on a tray while I'm on the radio... how does one get that to happen?
I think those stereotypical days are long gone -- if they ever existed. Tom and I will be doing a video on ham advertising. Quin, K8QS
My 1962 model just brought me a beer .... on a tray ... and she said something about "nah, nah, nanny-goat" on the way out!
Gotta admit, sometimes it's hard to get 'er started in the morning. Probably because she's low on coffee.
...and the Johnny Novice at minute 18 also had the necessary and ubiquitous white tape on his glasses. Didn't we all? Weren't we all slaves to fashion back then?
lets we forget the antics of Jeeves....Drawn by Phil Gildersleeve, W1CJD, for QST. Gildersleeve — or "Gil," as he signed his cartoons — drew thousands of cartoons for League publications in the 1930's through the mid 1960's
